In response to the publication entitled “Emergence of a new antibiotic resistance mechanism in India, Pakistan and the UK : a molecular, biological and epidemiological study” published online in the journal “Lancet Infectious Disease” dated 11th August 2010, a rebuttal was sent to the journal expressing our disagreement over naming the bacteria as NDM-1. in response to that the following communication was received from the editor of the journal addressed to Dr. R. L. Ichhpujani, Director, NCDC at that time.
