Activities undertaken in the division –
- Centre for NCDs was established in February, 2015.
Mandate of Centre for NCDs at NCDC includes:
- Technical support to NPCDCS
- Capacity building
- IEC & Advocacy with policy makers and NPCDCS programme managers
- Monitoring & Evaluation
- Research
- Internal Review of NPCDCS in 2015-16 of initial 100 districts, to assess the implementation status, data validation and program outcomes.
- Trainings: Organized the National Level Training of Trainers for Medical officers for 29 states and 4 UTs to roll out Population level screening under NPCDCS.

- At state level trainingfor population level screening for NCD of Medical officers in Punchkula, Haryana
- NCD training of medical officers and other health care staff in reference to Health & Wellness Centre in Bhopal and Gwalior, MP
- Programme managers Under NPCDCS : Tripura, Bihar
- Investigations:
- Investigated root cause of disability in four villages namely Hariharpur, Godiapalli, Chediapalli and Panchrida Manpur of Odagaon block in Nayagarh district of Odisha state.
- Study of causes of non - compliance to continuum of care in patients screened under NPCDCS for hypertension and/or diabetes in Sundergarh, Odisha in 2016.
- Study to identify the risk factors for cancer in Mustafabad district of Delhi.
- Investigation of Chronic Kidney Disease in Supebeda village of Gariyaband District, Chhattisgarh (2017-18) and Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh (2018-19)along with other members of the Central team.
- Part of team of experts for visit to block Meenapur, Bihar to investigate increasing cases of cancer.
- Screening for NCDs and their risk factors among faculty and staff of NCDC.
- Studies:
- ICMR Study ‘Implementation of Survey for Monitoring National NCD Targets: 2015-16’ in states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi in 2017-18.
- Projects by EIS officer in NCDs: Study on factors contributing to prehospital delay and hospital delay in acute coronary syndrome cases admitted to tertiary care centre (Safdarjang Hospital) -Delhi, October- December 2018
- Centre for NCD, NCDC, Delhi was one of the implementing agencies for theNational NCD Monitoring Survey 2017-18in seven northern states of India namely Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab. The survey was done in 52 selected primary sampling units (PSU). Survey started on 23.10.2017 and data collection was completed on 04.04.2018. Also participated in its data analysis and report writing.
- Field visits to one district per state to assess the system readiness to roll out Population bases screening NCDs in collaboration with NHSRC - Visited Bokaro (Jharkhand), Wardha (Maharashtra) and South District(Tripura).

- Expert Group Meetings:
- to review the draft guidelines for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)/Asthma management under NPCDCS at NCDC
- Expert group meeting to review the draft guidelines for Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD) management under NPCDCS
- Expert group meeting for identifying the gaps and areas of collaborations in the management and surveillance of Neuro-Developmental Disorders (NDD) under NMHP at NCDC
