Activities undertaken in the division –

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Specialized referral services and support to outbreak investigations for providing supportive data related to biochemistry profiles on clinical specimens collected during specific investigations and outbreaks.
  2. Iodine estimation in Salt and urine under National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Control Programme (NIDDCP).
  3. Establishment of laboratory services for fluoride estimation in water and urine under National Programme for Prevention and Control of Fluorosis (NPPCF).
  4. Biochemical investigation of Sugar, lipid profile, liver function, Kidney Functions, electrolytes and Thyroid Functions etc.
  5. Biochemical screening of NCDC officials for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) risk assessment have been completed.
    1. Individuals have been screened for various NCD. Biochemical investigations have been done for diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Cardiac diseases, Renal diseases, Liver function disorders, Gout, by monitoring blood sugar level, lipid profile, kidney and liver functions parameters.
    2. All reports were made and had been distributed to all individuals.
    3. Obtained data are under process for further analysis.
  6. Division is also establishing the capacity to impart training for both medical and paramedical personnel, State Nodal Officers, District Nodal Officers, District Consultants and laboratory technicians under NIDDCP and NPPCF.
  7. One technician from the division attended four days training programme conducted by All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health (AIIH&PH), Kolkata under NIDDCP from 4th to 7th December, 2018.
  8. Provided one month internship training programme for Post Graduate students of Biochemistry and Biotechnology from different universities.
